Subscription quota always runs out. The moment it does, the Agents on that account stop. looptend’s accounts feature does one thing: once an account is used up, your work carries on in the next session. Here is the order it happens in.
A warning before it runs out
looptend keeps reading every account’s quota, both the five-hour window and the weekly window. As you approach the line it warns you, naming the Agent, the account and what is left; when it is truly gone it tells you the quota is used up. You know first, instead of finding out after it stops.
Used up: the next session switches accounts
With “Switch automatically when quota runs out” turned on, once an account is confirmed used up, looptend prepares an account that still has quota for the next session. A new session simply starts on it.
A running session is never migrated. looptend only switches credentials for the next Agent process; it does not touch a thread that is already running.
Why only the next session
A session carries context and work that tools have already done. Switching accounts midway can lose both, or redo them. So looptend leaves the running session alone and uses the new account only when the next session begins.
Every session states which account it runs on, so whether it switched and where it went is never a guess after the fact.
Unreadable is not used up
A quota that cannot be read, a stale reading, an expired login or a network failure never counts as used up. After several failed reads looptend only notes that the quota is temporarily unreadable and keeps the last reading; it switches only on verified evidence that the quota is gone.
Switching happens between accounts of the same Agent: one Codex account runs out, the next session uses another Codex account. Kimi, GLM and MiniMax plans can be set up the same way; Claude quota is read only, never switched. Each Agent keeps its own quota.
What Free, Pro and Max each do
Free shows the quota of every account. Accounts need Pro and subscription mode: turn on “Switch automatically when quota runs out”, and when one account is used up the next session switches on its own. Max is for people who run five or more accounts, several computers, or leave Agents running unattended for long stretches.
Logins stay official, looptend only reads
Signing in is always done by the official Claude, Codex and other processes. Each account runs in its own official process and they never touch. looptend reads quota and status only; it does not renew, copy or rewrite a credential, and it never runs a login for you.
More in the features section of the home page; download looptend and Free already shows every account’s quota.
